Nouvelle série de deux ateliers visant à :

• développer vos compétences en vulgarisation scientifique
• faciliter vos contacts avec les médias

Chaque atelier est d'une durée de 2h30, incluant à la fois une revue de la théorie et une activité pratique.

Ils se donneront au campus des Sciences de l'UQAM au SB-1115 (Pavillon des Sciences Biologiques) → [Sortie UQAM au Métro Place-des-Arts]

Café et collations seront servis sur place :)

Côté science, qu'est-ce qui intéresse le public ? Et qu'est-ce qui ne l'intéresse pas ? On croit à tort qu'il suffit de bien vulgariser pour parler de science au grand public. Il faut surtout être intéressant !

La formation commence par une présentation réaliste des aptitudes et connaissance du citoyen moyen. Elle inclut un petit atelier d'écriture pour mettre en pratique les trucs proposés.

Horaire: 10h-12h30

Comment augmenter vos chances qu'un rédacteur en chef ouvre votre communiqué de presse et vous recontacte pour en parler. Truc numéro un: sois bref ou tais-toi ! Comment ensuite s'adresser aux journalistes en entrevue.

A new series of two workshops aiming to:

• Develop your skills in scientific communication
• Facilitate contact with the media

Each workshop runs for 2.5 hours, including a review of theory and an activity to put it in practice.

The workshops will take place at the science campus of UQAM in SB-1115 (Pavillon des Sciences Biologiques) → [UQAM exit of the Place-des-Arts Métro station]

The objectives for this workshop are:

• Empower graduate students to participate in science communication
• Learn about the what science communication is and the current state of science communication in Canada
• Leave with tips, tools, resources, and the confidence to apply scicomm in your everyday life
• Learn how to make your outreach inclusive and diverse

The workshop will also include a discussion, encourage participation, and there will be an activity!

This workshop will have participants feeling confident to navigate their engagement with media outlets and get their research and science ideas heard!

We will cover:

• A quick background of science and the media: Where is this relationship today?
• How to engage with the media about your research
• How to prepare for an interview: Tools and Tips

In the second part of the workshop, we will have an interviewing activity. Participants will have the opportunity to practice what they've learnt and be interviewed by peers.
